The Secret Heart

"Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart" (Psalm 51:6).

There is an interior world in every man. This is a place where thoughts, emotions, dreams, and desires find their connection to flesh, bone, chemicals, and energy in the body. The Creator, who designed man, sees straight into this interior world.

It is not an insignificant place. From the secret heart of man flows behavior and attitude that is lived out in the body and in relationships with others. In fact, outward behavior can sometimes look better than the inner world. The heart, the Lord says, is desperately wicked and deceitful. This is why we need God in our hearts.

Good living begins when we receive God's truth in our hearts. This, hw gives according to his grace and mercy. The humble heart that acknowledges its great need for him is a heart in which the Lord delights, a heart ready to grow in wisdom.

How much trouble is there in the world today because mankind refuses to recognize the God who made all things. is the maker of the heart and therefore the One who is able to teach and correct it.

O Lord, come into my private world and transform it for your glory and my good.
