"Well done good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will se you over much. Enter into the joy of your master" (Matthew 25:21).
The "well done" of the parable Jesus told comes as a result of the servant's faithfulness according to his ability (vs. 15). Not all are the same. One servant is given five talents, another two, and another one. Each is responsible to be faithful with what God has given him. It is not right for a servant with many talents to judge others who have only a few or for a servant with one a few talents to envy others with more. Christ is calling his servants to be faithful, to be faithful according to their ability.
Is it possible that we are lazy and discontented servants wanting to hear the Master say "well done" thought we have be unfaithful and discontent with his calling and provision in our lives? It is time for us to stop eyeing the talents of others or fearfully avoiding the use of what we have. Let us embrace God's provision and equipment and engage in the work before us without reserve or hesitation.
The rewards are great. it is the one who if faithful with the little he has who will be given more opportunity. And the one who if faithful to the end will hear those wonderful words, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
